I was inspired by the greats. Illuminated by the hate. I understand what is real and I can smell what is fake. When I wrote my first poem in 2016 on the way to a basketball game I knew right there it was what I was supposed to be doing with my life. I then felt obligated to go back and learn about the greats that had come before. Tupac became my largest musical inspiration almost immediately when I found out he had also began with poetry. What inspired me the most was the IMPACT he had on people. That’s what I want. TO IMPACT PEOPLE. I know I’m NOT THE ONLY ONE he’s inspired. There’s millions and I hope like myself they’ve taken the inspiration and used it as fuel to help change this cold world. The world is and evil place right now. Thank you Tupac. You, Micheal Jordan, Kobe Bryant, my parents and most importantly GOD have been instrumental in keeping this flame lit.
